Digital Producer, The Transmitter

The Transmitter offers up-to-date news and analysis of the neuroscience field and is dedicated to helping scientists at all career stages stay current and build connections.

Our award-winning news team is seeking a digital producer to work approximately 15 hours a week. The producer will collaborate with the editorial, art and marketing teams to produce daily website content and newsletters. This is an excellent opportunity for a multimedia producer to gain experience in a fast-paced newsroom. Responsibilities include:

• Creating and publishing articles in WordPress, including art, photographs, graphics, audio and video.
• Scheduling homepage updates and other site maintenance tasks.
• Creating and scheduling newsletters in Mailchimp.
• Editing graphics, audio and video, and conducting photo research as necessary.
• Other tasks as assigned or required.

Familiarity with Mailchimp, WordPress (or another content management system) and Adobe software is preferred; strong attention to detail and good written communication skills are essential. Experience as a journalist or editor is a major plus.
