Ben Frumin, Editor in Chief, Wirecutter

Ben Frumin has been Wirecutter’s editor-in-chief since January 2019, leading the 100-person editorial team behind the best and most beloved product recommendation service in the country. Prior to Wirecutter, Ben was the editor-in-chief of TheWeek.com for more than six years, building one of the country’s premier digital destinations for sophisticated opinion journalism from across the ideological spectrum.

Before Wirecutter and The Week, Ben worked as a senior editor at Talking Points Memo, a professor at Columbia Journalism School, a magazine writer and editor, and a newspaper reporter. His work has been published in the San Francisco Chronicle, CNN, Reuters, Columbia Journalism Review, the New York Post, and The Forward. For a time, he regularly wrote book reviews for the Far Eastern Economic Review.

Ben has worked as a journalist in New York, Colorado, California, and India. He earned bachelor's degrees in political science and psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a masters degree in journalism from Columbia.

Ben is an award-winning journalist who has represented Wirecutter and The Week in podcast, radio, TV, magazine, and digital media interviews. He is married to the journalist Aliyah Frumin. They live in New York with their two children and indispensable robot vacuum.
