RESULTS OF ANNUAL ELECTION

The Executive Director of the American Society of Magazine Editors, acting as Secretary, has announced the results of the Annual Election of officers of the Society and members of the Board of Directors. As no additional nominations were filed, the online voting scheduled to begin today was canceled and the following were elected by general consent.

Officers of the Society, elected to one-year terms,

  • Clara Jeffery, Editor in Chief, Mother Jones, president
  • Janice Min, Contributing Editor, TIME, vice president
  • Alison Overholt, General Manager, Oprah Daily, treasurer
  • Anna Holmes, Executive Vice President, Higher Ground Productions, secretary

Members of the Board of Directors, re-elected to two-year terms,

  • Joe Brown, Group Editorial Director, Hearst Autos
  • Edward Felsenthal, Editor in Chief and Chief Executive Officer, TIME
  • Amanda Kludt, Editor in Chief, Eater
  • Charles Whitaker, Dean, Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University

Members of the Board of Directors, elected to two-year terms,

  • Susan Goldberg, Editor in Chief, National Geographic
  • Radhika Jones, Editor in Chief, Vanity Fair
  • Stephanie Mehta, Editor in Chief, Fast Company
  • Paul Reyes, Editor, Virginia Quarterly Review

The first meeting of the newly constituted Board of Directors is scheduled for Thursday, July 15. Subsequent meetings in 2021 are scheduled for Thursday, September 23, and Thursday, November 18. Meetings in 2022 are scheduled for Thursday, January 20; Thursday, March 17; Thursday, May 19; Thursday, July 21; Thursday, September 15; and Thursday, November 17.
