Job Description

The Destinations Editor will help create and execute Conde Nast Traveler’s global destination content strategy, prioritizing evergreen search traffic through our robust guides while also keeping an eye on trending destinations that are seeing a growth in travel interest. The Destinations Editor should be a master of service journalism and well-versed in the world of travel, providing readers with the information they need to visit a place, whether it’s their first trip or their tenth. This role reports into the Digital Director.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, cultivate, and manage a best-in-class ecosystem of destination guides and related content across CNT’s global sites
  • Assign, write and edit listings, articles, and all guides content in a brand-appropriate voice
  • Manage the process and production of guides to ensure the timely achievement of content production targets in kind, quality, and quantity.
  • Manage a global network of freelancers, ensuring payment and paperwork are properly handled
  • Work closely with global digital destinations team to ensure traffic growth and incorporate affiliate revenue
  • Work with product, tech, design, and editorial teams to develop new venues-centric experiences within CNT’s ecosystem, including faceted search, lists, and itineraries.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience in a related content environment/publication.
  • Travel knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, copy editing skills, attention to detail.
  • Strong fact-checking and research skills, including map-based research and fact checking.
  • Ability to learn and operate digital CMS software.
