Book Writer at Investopedia

Investopedia’s commerce team is looking for writers to cover product reviews on books. We are interested in writers with experience in commerce and covering financial topics. Specifically, we are looking for writers with a knowledge of books in the following areas:

  • Cryptocurrency
  • Financial Technology
  • Technical Analysis
  • Trading Strategies
  • Alternative Investments

Please include your relevant credentials, as well as links to previous content you've written specifically to one or more of these areas.

About the Role: 

You will be responsible for making sure we have the most thorough, well-researched, reliable, and inclusive commerce content that educates and empowers readers from all walks of life with actionable advice that gives them the perspective they need to manage their financial lives. You should be able to navigate complicated topics and present them in a way that is understandable for a lay audience while providing actionable next steps for people from all backgrounds. 

  • Depending on the topic, these articles will be 1000-1200+ words in length and written according to Investopedia’s style and format. 
  • You will provide research from primary sources for fact-checking and inline citations.
  • You must be able to function as an unquestioned subject-matter expert on the topics we tackle.
  • Owned by Dotdash, Investopedia has a traditional freelance model that pays writers to create content on their own schedule without limiting their ability to work on other projects. 

About You: 

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of one or more of the specific areas of expertise listed above—and demonstrated experience writing for well-recognized outlets on these topics. 

  • 5+ years of experience publishing financial content in well-respected outlets.
  • Strong editorial skills and a keen sense of how to develop content that serves a targeted reader need.
  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce well-researched, well-documented, publishable copy on tight deadlines.
  • Strong desire to help make all people smarter in their financial lives.
  • You must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Also useful: academic or professional background in finance.
